The mercenary who died in Egypt.
Marc Spector was born in Illinois, and raised solely by his Jewish-American father, Elias. The two had a strained relationship as Marc grew up, as the man that he called dad was often distant, seeming uncomfortable around his own son. When he was old enough, Spector left the home, briefly returning to his hometown to attend his fatherโs funeral, where he tells his mother that โforgiving him is hard, especially after all that he did to him.โ
As an adult, Marc trained as a heavyweight boxer. It wasnโt long before he signed up to be a U.S. Marine, but that, also, was short lived. The man left the military to become a mercenary. Throughout the years, he allegedly fought for what he believed was best, but the man was easy to persuade. If one had the right money, he would do what needed to be done without a blink of an eye. In this line of work, Spector formed a surprising friendship with a man named Jean-Paul DuChamp, who he refers to as โFrenchie.โ
His life, however, as a mercenary would grow shorter than expected once he stumbled into the company of a bloodthirsty terrorist known as Raoul Bushman.While Spector was used to the combat lifestyle that came with the job, Bushman was a different breed. The man was a savage, taking down any that stood in his and his teamโs way, the violence building to a point that the hired gun soon began to question his work. It was a mission to the Sudan that Marc declared the monster that was Raoul was to be stopped when he witnessed the giant questioning Dr. Peter Alraune and his crew -- who were in the middle of the discovery of a tomb (rumored to hold great riches). The man attempted to stab Bushman from behind, but because Marc was foolish enough to warn him, the man was killed, the archeologist having his own throat ripped out. Spector, revolted by this, began to aid the manโs daughter, Marlene, in escaping, but was caught by Raoul and his men. Because of this betrayal, Spector was left with the mindset that only he can be the one to take down the other. The two fought, but the hired gun was defeated and left for dead.
Marc Spector, after hours of being unconscious, stirred, only to find himself alone. The man, on the verge of death, drug himself through the hot sand to the tomb that was uncovered by Dr. Alraune. Once inside, he was met with Marlene and the men who had helped discover the great vault. Upon discovering the bloody body of the man, the others declared Spector to be dead. They placed him before the statue of the great Khonshu, god of the moon. Just as Marlene began to cry over the lost of his life, Spector rose with a start, startling everyone around. Voices overlapped each other as each person searched for a proper reasoning, but the risen again mercenary interrupted, claiming that it was Khonshu who resurrected him. He believed that the god had brought him back for vengeance, to serve as his very own knight in the world. The white cloak wrapped around the statueโs frame was removed, and Spector was seen putting it around himself as he ran from the tomb. By the time Marlene and the men reached the town of Selima, Marc was already engaged in a battle with Raoul Bushman, where the once defeated man claimed his victory-- by carving his face off BEFORE killing him.

The return to the states in a journey unknown to Spector, he passing out moments later after the fight with Raoul. When he came to, both Marlene and Frenchie were by his side, where both informed him that they will be there to help him through whatever it is he was going through. Marc, aware of the new voice echoing through his head, knew he had fallen into a completely new lifestyle, serving as the moonโs knight, whether he liked it or not. From that day on, Spector has worked as a fighter of crime, donning a pale, cloaked costume, one much like the shroud taken from the temple. From that day on, he became the Fist of Khonshu, a.k.a the Moon Knight.

Moon Knight is a masked vigilante who works on his own, only coming to the aid of teams like the Avengers and X-Men when absolutely needed. Due to his actions along the way, the few friends that followed him through his journey have become injured numerous times, almost losing their lives at certain points. Because of this, he prefers to keep his distance from anyone and everyone. The man has several looks, the most notable ones being the cloaked costume and a completely white suit with a mask bearing the crescent moon upon his forehead. Many point out that the manโs look is unnecessary because those heโs going after can see him. To this, he corrects them, stating that he has no reason to be hiding in the shadows. In fact, he wants those that heโs hunting down to see him coming, and by the time that they realize just who theyโre facing, โtheir hands are shaking so bad, they couldnโt hit the moon.โ
Due to his violent tendencies, many heroes are unsure of Moon Knight. They claim his ways are unethical, that there is no need for such fighting ways. Along with this, the title of being a lunatic has stuck to his character, and itโs something that he has easily adopted. Being labeled as crazy doesnโt phase the man anymore, seeing as he has spent years questioning his own mental stability.
Spector stands as middle ground, the voice of reason balanced between Steven Grant and Jake Lockley.

It is believed that Grant was the first to show himself to Marc, someone that the man has considered a good friend from a young age. However, some say that they have never heard the name uttered until he appeared in New York one day, with a vast amount of money to his name. The newly received title of millionaire felt as if it has been there for years for the male, and he was soon putting himself out there for the world to see. With this, Steven was able to become popular with people of a higher status.
Grant, unlike Spector and Lockley, tends to be unaware of what happens when the sun sets, leaving the moon to take its place (or he is simply playing the part of a forgetful man so his picture perfect look on life in unphased). He weighs more on being nothing more than the wealthy benefactor, focused more on what's best for him, and is described as โtoo soft,โ for the life he truly lives.

The cab driver who isnโt afraid to get his hands dirty.
Lockley works at the street levels, using his status as a nightly driver to obtain important information that is nearly inaccessible to an everyday person. Over time, the man befriended a homeless man named Bertrand Crawley, who soon became the main contact on the streets. Along with Crawley, Lockley met a woman named Gena Landers, and her two sons Ricky and Ray. Genaโs diner was mentally declared the place to meet, and within a short few months of this, both of the Landers boys began to work with the cab driver by collecting information and performing investigation work for him. Trust was established in its own time, and Marc Spector soon shared his secrets with these people, who he would carefully call his friends.
Lockley can be violent if pushed to a certain point (which isn't hard to do. The man runs on a short fuse). He deals with the leftovers that even the warrior of the moon doesn't want, and isn't afraid to break more than a few bones if need be.
